Life is busy and having a beautiful functional kitchen makes things easier! Revive Remodeling took our old drab kitchen to light and bright and designed to be more efficient. Our kitchen is beyond what we dreamed with Don and Laurie’s guidance and help. Don’s level of detail and standards for their work are exceptional. There can be unforeseen challenges when renovating an older home to new codes. You will want Don’s knowledge and experience when this happens. We made a couple changes mid project. Laurie was quick to respond with estimates and ideas to keep costs minimal. Overall we had a great experience during our kitchen remodel. That was no surprise to us because Revive renovated our master bathroom three years ago. We love the work Revive did in our home. While this was referred to as a kitchen remodel, they also refinished the original hardwood floors in our older home, laced in new hardwood flooring in the kitchen and matched them beautifully. A powder room just off the kitchen was renovated as well as the laundry room, which is also located just off our kitchen. In addition, old baseboard and window trim was removed in our entire downstairs and replaced with beautiful white trim and molding that helped update our space as well. I would recommend Revive because when difficulties emerged (as they will when you renovate!), they found creative solutions to the issues. Don Isaacson, who along with his wife Laurie, is one of the owners of Revive, came up with a sensible and appropriate kitchen design plan for our particular space. They have awesome folks working for them. We really enjoyed interacting with their employees while they were in our home. The subs they contracted with from flooring to painting to electrical, were professional, efficient and careful. All in all, this was a good experience. We learned a lot from this process. And we ended up with a beautiful space we are proud of.

“Planning: Don and Laurie (married couple) are the owners of Revive. Don is the contractor and Laurie does the billing and office work. Don came to our house to give us an estimate and spent an hour talking to us and I immediately liked him. A few days later he had designed our kitchen out on the computer and showed us a graphic design. He had great ideas regarding the design and is very talented at knowing what will work. We got several estimates but he was the only one who designed it for us and gave us a visual with our estimate. He also had an appreciation for our home and maintaining its character since it is a bungalow built in 1912. You can tell by his enthusiasm that he loves his job.

This was our first remodel so we don’t have anyone to compare Revive to. However, Don is a very honest, trustworthy guy. He pays attention to detail and ensures that everyone he works with does it right. Of course there were bumps along the way like any remodel project (our cabinet company really botched up our semi-custom cabinets) but Don handled it all very well and in the end everything is perfect. He made the cabinet company come out several times until he felt it was perfect. He didn’t let up! I felt very comfortable throughout the project because I knew Don would make it right. He doesn’t cut corners for sure and he demands the same from his workers and sub-contractors.

Communication: I felt I could text, call, and/or email Don personally at anytime and would get a response immediately. Laurie, as well, promptly replied to any emails or calls. Being a female-female couple, My wife and I appreciated the fact that we always felt comfortable with Don, his workers, and sub-contractors in our house with us and our 2 old dogs. No one ever creeped us out! Billing/cost: Laurie handles the billing and change orders and she was always very clear and honest. Laurie would promptly email a “change order” with any changes made to our original plan/contract with a description and cost. Nothing was ever done without our understanding and approval. I went through it all again at the end of the project and it was all correct. Revive is definitely not the cheapest company out there but we weren’t looking for the cheapest. We wanted a custom kitchen that would maintain the character of our house. Revive did that. Integrity: A+++ for integrity.”

“We had Revive do multiple things for us. They totally remodeled 3 bathrooms, took out a couple of huge columns in our living room, tiled around the living room fireplace, and put in new baseboards in our first floor.  In the course of this work they encountered unforeseen challenges, such as a window behind a bathroom mirror that no one knew existed (we knew the mirror existed, not the window!), multiple existing leaks in one bathroom, dry rot in the wall of one bathroom, and so on. These challenges required that Revive go substantially beyond the original scope of work.
Three things are important to note about our experience with Revive:
1. They were very pleasant to work with—always courteous, accommodating, and always spent time telling us what was going on and what our options were. This goes not only for Don and Laurie, but also for their crew.
2. They showed great attention to the quality of the finished work—always wanting ensure that the finished product was excellent. They weren’t finished with a job until it looked great and was great.
3. They were very fair in terms of the final price of the project. We never felt that they used the unanticipated challenges as a way of unfairly increasing the price of the work. The bottom line is that we feel very good about how things went and can enthusiastically recommend Revive.”

During the course of the remodel, Don offered professional advice on several different points. Part of the flooring needed replacement to support the new hardwoods. A hearth was not supported as it should have been. Mold was found in a wall after exposing it. Things do come up that neither remodeler nor owner can foresee. Don advised me, then allowed me to make the calls I saw best for my house and budget.
Don Isaacson and his crew were very professional and quality oriented. When the project was completed I felt that all items of the remodel were done to my expectations or beyond. My wife and I are extremely very happy with Revive Remodeling, LLC and expect you will be too.”

Revive took on a huge remodel job for us to address various code deficiencies left from a previous owner and their contractor. They expertly helped us demo, assess deficiencies and code violations, file new permits, and performed all necessary work. Any wildcards that came up, and they certainly did, were thoughtfully addressed as they laid out all potential options and the benefits and detractions for each decision. The communication from Don and Laurie was excellent. The professionalism and attention to detail from the crew exceeded expectations. After requesting quotes from other contractors, I am so relieved we went with Revive – I cannot recommend them enough.

After searching for a design/build remodeler to redo our 60’s ranch house, we settled on Revive Remodeling. Don and Laurie were super easy to work with! We were told by all companies during the bidding process that we might need to deal with asbestos, which could potentially add thousands of dollars to our project. Don was the only contractor to offer to arrange for asbestos testing so we would know what to expect. This turned out to be a major factor in choosing Revive Remodeling. We also loved the design Don came up with for opening up our tiny, dark house and transforming it into a bright and inviting home.

Revive’s crew was outstanding. They were respectful, showed up on time, and cleaned up before leaving. Everyone was super flexible, which we appreciated since we changed plans and added several things along the way. When problems developed, we knew they would get fixed before final project completion. We lived in the house during construction, so it was important that we felt comfortable with both Revive employees and subcontractors.

We experienced “remodeling fatigue” toward the end of the remodeling process. Those last weeks of construction felt like years! Laurie, especially, kept us going with her kindness and humor. Looking back, the project took longer than anticipated, but we are extremely pleased with the result. Revive didn’t give us the cheapest bid for our remodel, but hiring a company we could trust and work with was equally as important as cost to us. We would hire Revive Remodeling again for future projects.
