Stair railings serve more than a functional purpose. Its safety feature also gives stairs a visual presence and can make a staircase a work of art. The original builder grade staircase may have been elegant in the 90’s, but over time it became not only outdated, but unsafe due to the inadequate post attachments. One good impact could have been disastrous.

New square newel posts with custom built caps are connected with top and bottom rails that are encased with black metal long rectangular and single square balusters. To deal with the before enclosed carpeted staircase, we added tread caps on the open end of the stairs. Clear coating the newel posts and stair tread caps kept it light and airy. The railings were then painted a charcoal black matte to match the black iron balusters.

Elevated from ordinary to extraordinary this foyer stair railing definitely sets the tone in welcoming all who enter this beautiful home.
