Starting Your Day in a Room You Love

NW Marsden Pl, Portland, OR

The new homeowners to this home tucked into the Northwest Portland hills wanted the master bathroom to reflect more of their modern taste and needs. The clunky tub, not wanted, and tiled deck was swapped out for one grand shower. The challenge imposed by the large existing window above the tub, which would now be in the shower, was how can you still get the light with privacy yet not change out the window size? The solution: apply a commercial opaque film half way up the existing window. The new shower with built in bench also houses for him a rain head, for her a shower head with hand held sprayer in oil rubbed bronze. The space also has his and hers wall soap niches. The old shower opposite of the tub was removed and the wall moved in so the closet behind that wall could be expanded.

The new Alder vanity stained light has two bottom pull out drawers for extra storage. She wanted a space to place her creams, perfumes, etc. for easy access, so a niche built into the wall right of the vanity was a logical space. The glass shelves keep it light and airy.

Soothing warm beiges of tile with elegant dark brown hardware transform this new master bath into a tranquil oasis to spend time in, day or night.
