Malfunction to Magnificent
A Family Bathroom Makeover
SW 216th place, Sherwood, Oregon, 97140
This 1975 home’s guest bathroom was in need of a complete overhaul, we’ve seen worse, but it was definitely outdated and lacked functionality. Primarily there was no shower, so only baths could be taken, rather inconvenient with teenage kids. The original vanity was in poor condition, and the storage closet with bifold doors behind the door entry was so from the 80’s.
With a bathroom of modest size, natural light color materials such as Soap Stone Polished 12×24 for the flooring, and in the shower Modern Surfaces Colosseum Glossy Group 2 in a stacked pattern were incorporated. A custom sized soap niche with Quartz stone shelf is backed with a Herringbone Dolomite Polished Mosaic to add interest. And a new white vanity topped with Pental Misterio Quartz adds to all the shiny you may find in a fancy hotel bathroom.
A brand spanking new soaker tub with added shower plumbing to the right side of the wall makes bathing with options now. With all the new plumbing fixtures in a matte black adds sophistication to the over all look. The lighted mirror is the “cats’ meow” as it has multiple settings with a defogger too. The closet was replaced with a custom built in cabinet for increased storage options.
