Embracing The Galley Kitchen

SW Molalla Bend Rd, Wilsonville, OR, 97070

Just because you’re working with a compact setup, doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice beautiful kitchen design. This 1976 kitchen was transformed by opening up the entry into the dining room and relocating the fridge to the opposite the end of a cabinet span for functionality and more countertop space. Nothing screams outdated more than a lowered ceiling and plastic ceiling light panels. With a support beam as a natural divider in the kitchen, the lowered ceiling was removed and replaced with multiple can lights to illuminate the space.

The homeowners still desired a traditional look with dark wood cabinets with raised paneled doors. Designed with strategic contrast by using shades of bright white, reflective surfaces like 3CM Pental Quartz Misterio Gold and 3”x12” white glossy subway tile elevated with under cabinet lighting gives this new kitchen a fresh brightened look.
