Cramped Dysfunction to Open Delightfulness

SW Tachi Ct, Tualatin, OR, 97062

Outfitted with lackluster builder-grade home oak cabinets, soffits, tiled countertops, this 1993 kitchen lacked a logical flow, causing traffic to stop. She wanted a new kitchen, her husband wanted her to be happy, and so it began. By removing the shared wall between the kitchen and the formal dining room allowed for doubling the size of the kitchen. Revive Remodeling designed the new layout to fulfill the needs of the homeowners with an aesthetic functionality.

New two-tone paint cabinets of white uppers and graphite lowers adds a modern contrast to the new flooring a Coretec Pro Plus LVT in Suva Oak throughout the main floor installed right over the existing maple hardwoods. The large island serves much ample prep space, houses a new microwave drawer, and casual seating. Anchored into the previous dining wall is a large pantry cabinet with roll out shelving. And right of the fridge is display cabinet with rain glass. Countertops are Pental’s “Misterio” Quartz married with a classic 3×12 white subway tile keeping the look light and airy, but classic. New recessed lights and three new pendant lights over the island bring much illumination.

Other projects included modernizing the outdated stair railing that divides the kitchen nook and lowered family room. Swapping out bypass closet doors for a built in cabinet that houses storage for coats and other household items.
