Green with Envy
Embracing Color in an Open Floor Plan
SW 81st Ct, Tigard, OR, 97224
Rethinking this 1989 home’s closed-off cooking space, gave way to a truly open concept design. Really open… Two entire walls were removed with a giant support beam to hold up the second story. Though we had to leave one structural post column for support, we eloquently wrapped it with millwork and painted it.
What makes this new kitchen alteration even more opulent is the large island’s lush jewel-tone green (Sherwin Williams SW 6468 Hunt Club) married with the warm “Ginger” stained cabinets lining the perimeter walls. There is no shortage of storage in this kitchen. The Pental Quartz countertops “Terra Luna” is mostly white with subtle brown medium veining keeps things light and airy. The tiled backsplash of honed hexagon pieces hugs the sink area adding personality. Gold hardware and fixtures add a final layer of timeless elegance. Our very first cup washer installed at the sink makes clean up fun for the whole family, especially the teenagers.
All new LVP flooring Shaw Pantheon “Olive Tree” was installed on the main floor except the laundry room. This natural mid-tone flooring effectively blends all the components of new and existing. We’re all a little green with envy as this kitchen now offers everyday functionality plus, but also is a grand place to encourage casual family meals, conversations with the cook, and effortless entertaining.
