This Beaverton 816 square foot house built in 1930 is home with only two bedrooms and one bath. To a family of six, by most standards, that’s fairly tight quarters. Revive designed and built the much needed master bedroom retreat with a private bathroom incorporated into the backside of the home adding 314 square foot. To prepare for the excavation a tree was removed and the existing deck was carefully disassembled to repurpose the Trex decking boards for a modified extended deck off the new bedroom.
For heating and cooling a mini split HVAC system was installed. Inside finishes include a grey barn wood look LVT flooring throughout, a corner walk in closet, a bathroom pocket door (to save floor space), sliver window above the bed wall (for privacy and added light), and a patio slider for access to the exterior deck. The bathroom fixtures are a stunning Champagne Bronze finish with black accents including a white vanity with a Quartz Java Noir countertop. A solar tube also adds much needed light in the windowless bathroom. The new addition entry from the existing house has ample room for a dresser and/or shelving, giving this family more options for much needed storage without intruding in the bed area. The additional space now allows the parents some breathing room with comfort and privacy.
